A Malibu, California Engagement Shoot Featuring a Vintage Car

The dreamiest engagement session I've had the honor to photograph-

I was so excited when Bailey & Colton reached out to me to photograph their engagement session and their wedding day. Bailey and I decided that Malibu, California would be the best location to help bring her vision life. Malibu offers so many beautiful locations from beaches, to cliff sides, fields of wildflowers, and rolling hills, it is the perfect spot to have a wedding or engagement session.

We woke up for sunrise and drove to Westward Beach. The best thing about early mornings is you usually beat the crowds and get the whole place to yourself. I love how the sand comes right up to the parking lot at Westward Beach. It was the perfect location to have an ocean view with a vintage car. You will not believe it, but as we were shooting we were welcomed by a humpback whale and it's calf that swam right by the shore. It was truly a memory I will never forget.

Throughout my sessions, I strive to tell a story throughout the photographs. This is because, when you look back at your photos I want you to immediately be taken back to that day. What was the weather like, what were your surroundings, how did it feel..these are all things I want you to remember when you look back at your photos. We started this session by working around the vintage car and then moving it to a variety of different spots along the beach. We ended the session with our shoes off for some fun shots next to the ocean.

This beautiful vintage car was rented from @onestopclassics in Los Angeles. They offer a variety of different classic cars to rent. I love getting creative and adding different props to engagement sessions. Having a vintage car for engagements, or any session adds variety, helps tell a story, and allows for endless creativity. Another company I highly recommend is Vinty. They offer classic cars in many different areas and also have the option to have the car dropped off at your shooting location!
